Once there was a city called Moconia. It was a small city where only 37 people lived. All the girls names began with the letter B. All the boys names began with the letter M. Everyone in the town shared a special power, flame throwing. They could sprout fire from their arms in any direction at anytime. Bianca was the only exception. Bianca was 15,and still had not received her powers. She was a short and thin girl with skin as pale as the snow that they never saw. Most people in Moconia were granted their powers when they turned 10. Bianca had no siblings and her parents were the presidents of the Moconia. Her time with her parents were limited and she had very few friends. The friends she did have were nice people, but they all lived on the farthest side of town from/Bianca. This is another things about Moconia, all the buildings and homes were very spread out and far away from each other. People would walk to eachotherś homes and to school, which was only twice a week for the children of Moconia. Bianca liked her town and the people in it, but she still never felt like she belonged.
One afternoon, Bianca went with her mom to her office in the Center of Moconia. Bianca had visited her parents offices fairly often and knew all of their fellow coworkers. Her favorite of these co workers, was an old man named Rer. Although Rer was nearly 80 years old, he acted as though he was going on 10. Rer and Bianca would prank call people in their offices, make forts in the meeting room, and take lots and lots of trips to the kitchen. On this particular day Rer was home sick, so Bianca decided to explore the east side of the building, where she had never been before. As soon as she went up the eerie stairwell to the east side of the building they noticed a door, that seemed different from all the other doors. The door had an obstinate coat of hardened black paint. The stubborn paint seemed to be chipping off at the edges, only to reveal more pitch-black door. Bianca slowly edged her way towards the scary door and opened it with nerves flowing through her body. Intensity filled her body and her breath seemed to slip away. She opened it up and saw a jar of fire sitting on a ledge before her eyes. She opened up the mysterious jar and the fire journey slowly into her skin. Bianca was not frightened. She was not scared or nervous. In fact, she was overjoyed with excitement. Bianca had finally found her powers. |
