About the Pacelli Power of the Pen Team

Hello! We are The Cardinal Pacelli Power of the Pen Team. Lorraine B. Merrill was founder and creator of the writing club, Power of the Pen. Power of the Pen was a writing competition in Ohio that aimed to sharpen kid’s writing techniques as well as teach the ethics of teamwork. However, at the recent news of the founders death, Power of the Pen ended, at least for this year. Now we’ve moved to a different kind of platform to continue the club. We have decided to start our own website, which you are reading now! Our club consists of 14 members, each of which are excited to share their own creative writing on this website. Each story was written by a student who was passionate about their topic. We have been working really hard to make this website, and we hope you find it interesting.  

Meet the team/authors!

• Hello! My name is Owen. I am in the 8th grade and have been educated at this splendid school for 9 years. I have a twin sister (Kate, who is also on Power of the Pen) and a dog named Carly. My favorite subjects include social studies, reading, and mathematics. Some extra-curricular activities I like to do are sports, hanging out with friends, going to Camp Hayo-Went-ha in Michigan, and skiing/water tubing. I had a blast putting together this website, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

• ​Bonjour! My name is Holland and I'm in the 8th grade here at Cardinal Pacelli. My favorite hobbies include traveling, playing sports, petting dogs, gaming on Webkinz, hanging out with friends and most importantly writing horror/action stories! I hope you enjoy this website just as much as I enjoy to help create it! Chow:)

• ​​Greeting fellow students, my name is Shelby Flynn. I am an 8th grader here at Cardinal Pacelli, and have been going here since kindergarten. I play basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer, field hockey, and tennis. Along with sports, I also enjoy writing and animals. In fact, I have a yellow lab named Gus. I hope you enjoy our website and the stories we share with you here!

• Aloha, students! My name is Kate. I'm in the 8th grade and I've been going to Cardinal Pacelli since kindergarten with my twin brother, Owen. Some of my hobbies include reading, writing, sleeping, watching Netflix, and playing with dogs. My favorite seasons are fall, winter, and season 2 of Stranger Things. I love playing tennis, and my favorite food is anything with chocolate. I hope that you are inspired by what you see here!

• Yellow! My name's Dylan and I'm an eight grader at Pacelli. I enjoy playing video games, reading, learning, science, and writing. My favorite subject is Science. I"m full of useful (and some useless, but nevertheless interesting, fun facts). I have two dogs Lily, a basset hound, and Skeebo, a husky-golden retriever mix.  I also have three cats Huckle, Mischief, and Tiller. Anyways, enjoy this amazing website, and have fun reading stories.

• Good-eye mate! My name is Andrew and I'm in 7th grade at Pacelli. I enjoy listening to old music so that I can laugh at the funny lyrics. I also enjoy playing video games with my friends after school. I write random stories such as a few called, "space bus" and "snakes on a plane." I enjoy most sports even though I'm not particularly good at them. I like making jokes with my friends during school. 

• Hi! I’m Molly and I’m an eighth grader here at Cardinal Pacelli. I have two dogs and I like to play lacrosse, tennis, and volleyball. I also have two brothers who go to Pacelli, Luke and Will. I am apart of Student Council and Power of the Pen. I hope that you like our website! ​

• Hola, my name is Ben. I am 14 years old and I love to write. My favorite type of writing is by far personal narratives. Some fun facts about me is I love to participate in all types of sports and activities, such as soccer and skiing. My hobbies outside of creative writing are video games plus soccer, which is more of a passion. Before your eyes roll off to the next bio just know that I hope you have a splendid day pal. Goodbye!

• ​​Hola! My name is Chloe and I am in 7th grade. I am 13 years old and my birthday is on January 5th. I love chocolate, baking, sports, video games and hanging out with my friends after school. I enjoy listening to old music from the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s. I’ve been writing fiction, graphic novels, and other books since I was in second grade.

• Hey! My name is Sebastian. My favorite things to do are playing basketball, petting my dog, and watching Netflix. My favorite TV show is Stranger Things, and I play for the school basketball team. I also enjoy writing and drawing, and my favorite thing to draw is random characters. Keep writing guys! ​

• Salutations, my name is Logan and I am part of the 2017-18 Pacelli Power of the pen. I like to eat chips, my favorite is cheeto puffs, and I like to play basketball. I am a very humorous guy who likes to laugh, and I also enjoy hanging out with the boys. Listening to music brightens my mood. ​

• Salut! My name is Kathleen. I am a 7th grader at Pacelli. I am very energetic, love tennis, and absolutely love writing. I also enjoy meditation, reading inspiring stories, and always love a good cheesy joke here and there. A goal in my life is to know that I made an impact in the world. I love confetti Oreos. I am very eager and excited to be in Power the pen.

• Hey! My name is Wally. I am in seventh grade and have been going to Cardinal Pacelli since kindergarten, and I have enjoyed every second of it. My favorite classes are social studies and English. Besides school, my favorite things to do are play sports and listen to music. I play lots of sports but the ones I enjoy the most are golf and basketball. As for music, I play the piano. I hope this website brightens your day and inspires you to work hard and chase your dreams!

• Hi! My name is Natalie. I enjoy playing piano and ukulele, petting my cat, swimming and of course writing. My 3 pets include, Dilly(Dog), Midnight(Cat who is 19!), Sharpie(Cat). My favorite color is yellow and pizza pretzels are my favorite food.

• Howdy! my names is Jack, and I am 14-years old. I am in the 8th grade at Cardinal Pacelli, and I have been going here since kindergarten. My favorite sport is football, although I also play basketball and volleyball. I enjoy writing scary and action stories, and I hope you are fond of all of them.

• Ello, my name is Mack, I am part of Pacelli’s Power of the pen and I live sports. My favorite sports team are the Green Bay Packers who play in the NFL.
